The Hammer and Anvil August jewelry making box is going to be a real eye opener! It's our second tutorial workshop box and we couldn't be more thrilled to bring this unique jewelry making learning experience right to your doorstep. We firmly believe in project based learning model to help you see how the jewelry skills apply to getting through the process from start to finish. It is a FULL jewelry class taught to you through online streaming video and the opportunity to LIVE chat with your instructor several times during the 4 weeks the workshop instruction is open. You will have the video fully accessible at release date with all the jewelry making materials, supplies and tools included at your door. We will have detailed step by step video jewelry instruction as well as the chance to chat with your jewelry instructor during live streams using ZOOM meetings. We will be able to share our progress, ask questions and trouble shoot any challenges you are having. The class size is very limited so that we can be available for your questions and support where needed.
We are going to make a delightful prong setting for a pendant or pair of earrings using rose cut faceted natural gemstones. We will be featuring 3 tools. The gorgeous stones are ethically sourced and uniquely matched. The first tool will use a joint file to create the setting for the prongs. The second tool featured will be Hold-It! Soldering Clay. You will receive a full size jar to help aid in positioning the prongs for soldering and a ton of other uses! The third tool featured is a brass prong pusher to get those prongs to bend over. We are excited to have you join us on this venture in learning! PROJECTED RELEASE DATE FOR TUROTIAL IS AUGUST 1st-6th. Boxes would arrive week before. All of the sterling silver, stones and solder will be included in your boxes. Some small bits and burs for finishing will also be included. (More images of the actual project coming soon!)
Basic metalsmithing and jewelry skills are needed. Previous soldering, sawing, filling, forming, and finishing is helpful. If you have set stones before using a burnisher and/or pusher, you will still learn new skills. If you haven't, you will learn a ton! There are some basic metalsmithing and jewelry making tools that need to be in your studio to be able to accomplish the project and future projects. Studio tools needed (not limited to just these but an example of a basic set up.) If you don't have all of these, contact me and we can decide what is absolutely essential or alternatives for success. There are great cost effective solutions when the tool is not in the cards at the moment.
